About the Project

1945 Pilsen is a specialised e-shop focused on original military items, historical artefacts and collectibles, primarily from the Second World War. Its range includes authentic pieces of military equipment, clothing, helmets, personal items, photographs and other objects connected with military history and the WWII period.

My task was to create the e-shop and its complete visual identity while respecting the character of the products and providing a simple, intuitive environment for browsing and purchasing. The e-shop was built on the ExitShop platform, with the project including the web design, store structure and visual identity.

The visual concept draws on authentic historical photographs, muted military colours and old paper textures. The result is a minimalist e-shop for military collectors that combines a modern user experience with a sense of history, allowing the original artefacts themselves to remain the main focus.

Logo & Visual Identity

The visual identity of 1945 Pilsen draws on the aesthetics of military history and collecting while deliberately avoiding an overly literal retro style. The aim was to create a brand that feels authentic while working effectively within a modern e-commerce environment.

The logo combines distinctive stencil typography with a five-pointed star motif referencing the military theme. Its simple design allows it to work across different sizes and on both light and dark backgrounds.

Colours & Visual Style

The colour palette draws on military aesthetics and authentic objects from the Second World War period. Muted shades of green and grey are complemented by a neutral light background, allowing the collectible items themselves to remain the main focus.

The visual style is complemented by historical black-and-white photography and subtle old and torn paper textures. These elements connect contemporary web design with the character of original military artefacts without making the e-shop feel cluttered or overly themed.

Web Design & Selected Features

The e-shop was designed with a strong focus on making its extensive range of original military items and collectibles easy to browse. The interface therefore remains intentionally clean, allowing the functional elements to support rather than distract from the product presentation.

Sticky navigation keeps the main categories easily accessible, while quick views and modal windows allow visitors to access additional information without unnecessarily leaving the current page. The result is a clear and intuitive e-shop built on the ExitShop platform, combining the brand’s historical character with a simple purchasing experience.

Responsive Design

The 1945 Pilsen e-shop was designed with an emphasis on comfortable browsing and shopping across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. The content layout, navigation and product cards adapt to different screen sizes, ensuring that individual categories and collectible items remain easily accessible on every device.

The responsive solution also preserves the brand’s distinctive visual style and makes it easy to browse the range of original military items and historical collectibles even on smaller screens.

Conclusion

The 1945 Pilsen project included visual identity design, logo creation and the complete design of an e-shop built on the ExitShop platform. Using custom CSS, I adapted the platform’s default solution to reflect the character of the brand and created a consistent visual experience throughout the online store.

The result is a responsive e-shop for collectors of original military items and historical artefacts, combining contemporary web design with the atmosphere of military history and the Second World War. The visual design remains deliberately understated, keeping the focus on the products while supporting a simple and intuitive purchasing experience.
